okay. for some time now, i've had pain at the are that says External oblique.. maybe a bit higher.It usually starts hurting (no, is not constant) after walking say a mile or so, or biking for a distance. Or sometimes, when i wake up. I'm assuming in the case of the latter two it's a matter of positioning of somesorts. Leaning too far forward, or sleeping at a weird angle. would this be a fair assumption of the cause? (in any case, the pain usually is at the back, with some twinges to the front.

Is this something serious, that should get looked at? or just bad positioning which i could correct myself?

looking for a new desk chair, as mine is near 7 years old and seems to now be quite uncomfortable.
Any recommendations? Preferably something i can order online :O

whee. i recently upgraded from my core2duo e6600 and evga 8800 gts cards to new hardware...

currently is a phenom 2 X4 955, 3.2ghz. with a ati radeon 4870 512mb....

I noticed however that i had so much old hardware pieces including the above mentioned cpu and card that i could build a whole new comp, and sell it off! which i did :D

Now of course i must splurge all that money on moar hardware!

However, here is the dilemma. 28" monitor, or 2nd graphics card for crossfire?

If i go with the monitor, that means i'll have a 19" spare as i'd be using the 28" and 22" for dual screen :D

WHY GOD WHYYYYYYYY

what an... odd dream.

It took place at my old french school, which used to be an old office building of sorts. Kinda. An odd building regardless, but it had been kinda transformed into something worse. More overhangs, more levels and ramps and such covering the usually uncovered part in the middle. In any case, it was... well, an oppresive place. You couldn't get out of the school to do anything, much less even go home. More of a prison than a school, really (which isn't too far from the truth).

Anyway, at the start of the dream i just utterly lose it. As in, I can't stand being there anymore (also not far from what happened), and try to escape (albeit this happened differently :P).

What ensues was a wild chase, with slow motion action worthy of the Matrix movies, me trying to move away and jump away from various people blocking my path, some of them guards in the place, others classmates who work as guards or something for the school (bastards). Physically, I don't think I was doing much that was supernatural, maybe one or two leaps down the last ramp were a tad excessive but other than that... at one point, I even got caught by a supervisor, but I manage to run away when I tricked him into showing me the worst possible punishment he could assign... which was to put me behind two pieces of furniture and press them against the walls, not actully crushing me but close. He let me go for an instant and I managed to run off, swerving between desks and such to get to the bottom level of the building (had to go up one level first).

Finally, it gets even more slow mo at the end, until I reach the door which is closing (the door was opened to release some older students who were leaving early)... it's an inch from closing when I manage to get the door open and exit, with everyone else around the door (inside) too shocked to move to try to stop me.

I pump my fists into the air and start moving away, then see that a girl I used to have a crush on managed to slip out right behind me after seeing me escape, and thanks me for helping her.

Then, I woke up. Bah!

supposedly, leaked beyond good and evil 2 footage.. possibly a cutscene, maybe gameplay though. Not 100% sure if it's BG&E2 though, as the style seems a bit too... serious compared to the first one. However, that character is practically unmistakeable as Jade.
Regardless, this looks pretty awesome as a game.

Takamura is one of the main cast of the anime Hajime no Ippo, an anime about Boxing based upon the manga by the same name. Said manga has lasted since 1989, and is STILL ongoing (850+ chapter )...Takamura is the strongest boxer of the particular gym (but not the protagonist). You could almost call him an antagonist, but not because he is the enemy... but because he quite literally antagonises everyone he meets, whether friend or foe. He's an utter, magnificent bastard, and through him the series has been one of the funniest things I have ever watched, EVER. He's the bastard you can't help but love. In the icon... he's about to beat up two gym mates for talking behind his back... but he's behind *their* backs as they say it :D his face just SCREAMS "... KEKEKEK >:D"

Flying sheep from warcraft 3. One of the human (i think?) units allowed you to target any humanoid or creature (nothing mechanical) and turn it into a harmless sheep. Flying units would be turned into a sheep with wings :D

I... have no idea what this anime is. But, random naked mini-woman hugging a melonbread (the only thing I know about the situation)? The sheer WTFness about it is worth having as an icon :D

Facehugger from Half-Life 1, moments before it jumps on your face to zombify you. It stares you down, even with the lack of eyes... then BAM. Facefull of alien wing-wong.

Years ago I used to read evangelion fanfiction. Some I still consider to be quite good, vs the trash on fanfiction.net . One of those was a silly little romance story, with the normally weak and wimpy main character developping more of an assertive character, even standing against the normally fiery girl that opposes him. This makes some of his friends stare in awe, grovel on the floor yelling "ALL HAIL LORD IRON-BALLS!". I've used said phrase a couple times in an IRC channel I frequent, and it's stuck (to me, of all people). Some of the channel goers theorised that if flattened, the iron balls would become ferrous wheels. A google search turned up this picture :D

haven't seen watchmen yet, but i did read a "critic" from my favorite german videogaming site (why they did a movie i'm not sure)... but this sounds good: "it jumps from the comic to the movie without being steamrolled by hollywood. the content is there.. mostly thanks to the enormous length of the movie: 160 minutes."

One of the most awesome things I have seen in a long time.

so. It seems both of my hard drives on my desktop are failing.

My secondary drive, the storage Terabyte drive, is pretty much dead. When i tried to start windows this morning with it activated (had to disable it in the bios for it to not freeze), it says "file record 5084 is unreadable". Looking online, that seems to be a death sentence. Anyone know of any software i can use to try and salvage some data when I get a replacement?

As for my main drive, it's still loading.. but it just took 2 boots to do so, sometimes freezes before windows loads (after the windows logo with the scrolling load bar. it goes blank as it usually does before loading, but doesn't go further).
